You know those blogs of people going away to hotter or colder places which the authors give up on after a few months, well yer, this is one of those. As annoying as they are they are a great way to inform people (who actually give a rats ass) about what you're up to. What I'm up to atm mainly consists of watching back to back episodes of dog the bounty hunter episodes but in 3 days I'm starting my much more blog-worthy Erasmus Mundus venture.
Erasmus mundus is a course for EU and foreign students to study in various places in Europe. Its similar to the Erasmus year but is 2 years and a masters course.
No doubt it will be exciting and challenging but currently I am pondering 'am I ready?' Three things worry me.
First and foremost unlike those doing an Erasmus year abroad I have only an intermediate understanding of Spanish and can not speak Italian or Portuguese at all. My aim is to abandon English as much as possible and speak the required language even if it makes things more difficult. I expect myself to be saying 'can you repeat that' and 'a bit slower please' a lot!
Secondly I am arriving in Spain without a house or flat. While I understand this is the norm it worries me because I have the irrational fear I will have no home and end up on the streets begging anyone who is anyone to let me live with them. I have been searching online for pisos and emailed a few people but not much has came of it but I live in hope that things will improve once I'm out there.
I've tried to keep this blog short because I haven't even left yet, but the main point to get across is that i'm nervous as heck. eek.
GOODBYE ENGLAND!
